Frequently Asked Questions

What type of celebrant are you?

I’m an independent celebrant, which means I create personalised, non-religious or mixed-belief ceremonies. Every ceremony is written from scratch and shaped around your story, your style and what matters to you.

Can we have our ceremony anywhere?

Yes. I officiate weddings and ceremonies in hotels, private venues, outdoors, at home, on mountains, by the sea and everywhere in between. If the location is safe and accessible, I’m there (restrictions apply for legally binding wedding ceremonies).

Do your ceremonies include legal marriage registration?

Yes, I can legally marry you and we will include the signing of the Marriage Registration Form (MRF) or green folder as part of the ceremony.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 12–18 months ahead for peak season, but I do take shorter-notice bookings. Once you know your date and venue, it’s worth securing your celebrant.

What’s your style of writing?

Warm, modern and elegant. I focus on clarity, flow and storytelling—nothing stiff, nothing awkward and definitely no clichés. Your ceremony will feel natural, engaging and full of meaning.

Do you help with vows and readings?

Absolutely. I offer ideas, examples, gentle structure and full editing support so your vows feel polished but still authentically yours.

How long does a ceremony last?

Typically 30 to 40 minutes, depending on readings, music and any symbolic elements you choose.

Do you travel?

Yes. I regularly travel across Kerry, Cork, Limerick, Clare and Galway, and I also work with destination couples planning an Irish wedding.

What does the planning process look like?

We’ll have a friendly conversation, I’ll get to know your story and your preferences, and then I craft a full script for your review. You’ll feel prepared, relaxed and fully supported from start to finish.

What makes Leading Ceremonies different?

Clients often comment on the calm, organised process, the elegant writing style and the easy, enjoyable experience. My aim is to make your ceremony the part of the day you look forward to—not the part you just “get through.”

Do you officiate funerals and baby-naming ceremonies as well?

Yes. Funerals are written with care, clarity and respect. Baby-naming ceremonies are joyful and personal, celebrating a new chapter in your family’s life.
