Yes I can! As long as you have completed the necessary paperwork and meetings with the HSE, I can legally marry you in a venue of your choice.

You can contact me for a no obligation chat (I wouldn't expect you to make a booking without one) where we can talk over your plans and ideas for your ceremony.

Should you decide to make a booking, I will send you on full details of my services, including a contract, and require half the ceremony fee to be paid on booking to secure your date.

We will meet (either in person or virtually) to discuss your ceremony in more detail, discover what ideas you have and what you may not have thought of!

As the ceremony begins to take shape and I have the information I need from you, I will begin to craft your ceremony script.

You will get to read over the script to make any changes, and we will meet again to go over the day in detail.

I am available throughout our time working together, and encourage you to keep me updated on your wedding plans.

A celebrant-led wedding can be however you choose it to be, as formal and traditional, or relaxed and different as you like.

Generally it follows the same format as traditional church weddings, with readings, vow exchange and ring exchange, but can also include enhancements like handtying, any style of music wish, and include children, friends and family.

Fortunately there are several different options available to couples when they are looking to get married in Ireland, but this can lead to confusion!

Legal Solemniser: this person will legally marry you in a venue of your choice approved by the HSE, and your ceremony can be personalised to your wishes.

Celebrant: this person can conduct a non-legally binding wedding ceremony for you, that will be personalised, in any venue or location you like. This is particularly suitable for couples who have completed the legal paperwork in another country or at another time. You don't have to be legally married or divorced to have this ceremony!

Registrar: an HSE appointed Registrar will legally marry you in a registry office or venue of your choice.

Humanist: A Humanist solemniser will conduct a legal wedding ceremony for you according to the rules and doctrine of the Humanist Society.

In all cases, apart from a Celebrant-led ceremony, couples must give at least 3 months notice of their intention to marry to the HSE (this includes church ceremonies).

Yes! This is your day and you can craft it to your wishes, weave in your ideas and add your own touches. The more personal the ceremony the better reflection it is of you as a couple, and the more your guests will enjoy it and talk about it afterwards!

You can include guests and your children in the ceremony, include religious content if you wish, and select any style of music.

You can also include a tribute to those friends and family who have passed on, for example by including the lighting of a candle of remembrance.

Yes! Because officiant led ceremonies are flexible and we are in contact on a regular basis, if you decide - even a few days before - that you wish to add or omit something, this can be easily accommodated.

Plus, as I only ever book one ceremony in any one day, should the time of your ceremony change, even at the last minute, I will still be available.

Yes! If neither of you are residing in Ireland, or if neither of you are Irish citizens, you can still get legally married in Ireland.

The same criteria applies to you as anyone else getting married in Ireland, that they give 3 months notice of the intent to marry to the HSE. You may be required to attend a meeting with a registrar but can discuss this when you contact the Registrar's Office. Alternative arrangements may be reached for the meeting if you live overseas.

If you wish to be legally married, the venue must be one that is open to the public, so private residences are not permissible locations for a legal wedding.

Alternatively, you can complete the legal paperwork separately with your local registrar and have a symbolic celebrant-led ceremony at home. The main difference would be that you would not be signing the Marriage Registration Form at this ceremony.
